Talented man, your grandad. Those are easily as good as most professional illustrations I’ve seen in 1930s-40s magazines.
I’m especially fond of that last young woman in her rakish summer straw hat - the play of light and shadow gives an impression that she’s under an awning on a bright, sunlit street - but my favourite is the old chap with glasses and moustache, who has so much personality that I can almost hear his voice…
